2010:  New Horizons
2010 PLAYER/PROSPECTS:
In order to provide an elite model of professionalism, the members of this organization are held to higher standards than many adult,
amateur football teams.
We are currently accepting open prospect inquiries of those who have at least started on their
respective varsity high school team(s
). Anyone interested in participating needs to return an information sheet (click here) to:
battlecreekblaze@yahoo.com
Membership fees are $150 for returning players ($100 for OL & K), and $200 for new members ($150 for OL). A $25 credit is applied to
those who bring recruits which are rostered. Membership with our organization does NOT guarantee playing time, simply the opportunity
to earn it. To ensure equal and fair opportunity of jersey number selection, jersey numbers are issued on a first-to-pay basis.
While there is no roster limit, jersey numbers will NOT be repeated. We do offer members' assistance in acquiring the necessary
protective gear, but are not responsible for supplying such services and/or tools.
No prospects shall participate in any Blaze activity until
payment is current
. Please contact us for payment information, sponsorship options, or any other membership questions/concerns.

Preparation Points are awarded for participating in OTAs (off-season) and
practices (in-season). We believe in rewarding levels of dedication in
enhancing individuals' abilities in order to contribute to the success of our
team. These efforts are statistically tracked and considered for determining
playing time, special player requests, and organizational endorsements.
The current team record for Points in a season is Jason Doubleday (37) and
Dusty Ploehn (36), both in 2009... Doubleday also had 36 in 2008.

A HERO'S WELCOME
Blaze defensive coach, Kip Cummins presents Samantha
Dean with the #22 jersey prior to our 15 January workout.
Sammie was recently notified that she has BEATEN a
brain tumor! She is an inspiration to us all!

The Return...
Much as been written about a certain QB
who couldn't stay away from the game. No,
we're not talking about Brett Favre, we're
talking about our own Dusty Ploehn!

The consummate teammate, Ploehn's
leadership and work ethic will be put to
good use again this season - but with a slight
twist in the scheme. Instead of guiding the
offense on the field, he'll be asked to help
de-rail the oppositions' ground-gainers (as
seen here against the Mercenaries in '09).

Under new Defensive Coordinator Michael
Bailey's system, Ploehn could play a number
of positions - but is likely to see most of his
time at linebacker and on special teams.
"FAMILY FOOTBALL" - 26 June 2010
The Blaze have officially agreed to travel to Traverse City to take on the 2nd-year TC Wolves in what
is being billed as our official "Family Football/Get-away Weekend" on 26 June, 2010! The Wolves,
members of the North American Football League made quite an impact during their inaugural season
by finishing a Division Championship with a deep Playoff run. Given the professional integrity
displayed by this group, the franchise was named the NAFL's "
Best New Team" of 2009.

More details, including an in-depth look at the Wolves, a scouting report, and travel information will
be posted as they are confirmed. Please click the icon for TCW's home page.
ATHENS BLAZE?
No...not quite. Although Athens High School is the official
host of the Blaze football program, the news out of Athens
High School is that Blaze defensive back Brandon Wadley
has been named the Head Varsity Football Coach!

Wadley, a former Union City Charger, will attempt to lead
his one-time rival back to contention in the Big 8, seeking
the school's first Playoff birth since 2000 - a span that has
seen Athens record only one winning season (2007). Coach
Wadley's first game at the helm of Indian Nation is slated
for 27 August against an opponent-to-be-named.

Not to stand alone in this endeavor, Coach Wadley
immediately appointed an assistant in his long-time friend
(and current Blaze teammate) Chris Hurst. Hurst, who
spent his first year of play-calling duties in leading the
junior high Indians to an undefeated 2009 season will
assume the role of offensive coordinator.

Both men are pictured (right) while representing the Blaze
as game captains before the final 2009 home contest. Both
are 3-year Blaze veterans who will be looked upon to
contribute significant roles ON the field in addition to their
newfound roles OFF of the gridiron.
Good luck Brandon & Chris!
